Luke 6:37-38 (NIV) "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and
you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will
be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over,
will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured
to you."

Words for the Day
Let me begin by saying that I will be dealing with these two verses for both today
and tomorrow. There is a cause and effect relationship between what we want, need,
and what we share with others. We must understand and I am not talking about work
or earning salvation or God's grace or favor because those things are only given
and must be received freely. But what Jesus was talking about in these verses is
the relationship that is created between our actions and the actions of those around
us.
If I am judging, for instance, I am evaluating some one's intention and motive.
I can't do that because I don't know those things, I can only speculate. If they
tell me what they are then I am not judging, but rather listening to what they
tell me. Even if someone is lying we know that it is wrong but we don't need to
judge them, instead we should point out what they did and try to correct the behavior
if possible. When Jesus said do not judge He was not saying, "check your brain at
the door." But what He is saying is that we must treat people the way that we want
and need to be treated. If we want the benefit of the doubt, we must give it.
One word of caution, we must act according to what we know the truth is and not
depend on others. Even when other people act wrong we must still act right. To be
